This testing process also helps assess the performance and characteristics of a geothermal reservoir or well. During a closed-loop test, geothermal fluid circulates within a sealed system—recirculating through the well and surface facilities without being released. The data gathered is used to evaluate the geothermal resource’s potential for sustainable energy generation.

Well clean-up

The well clean-up process is often combined with well testing and is performed to remove unwanted contaminants such as drilling mud, sand, completion brines, or stimulation fluids like acid from the flow stream. Before exposing the production facilities to potential damage, the well is produced through our temporary well testing equipment, including MPV degassers, high-flow sand filters, and hydrocyclones. These systems are specifically designed to handle well contaminants and operate within a more flexible and less restrictive envelope than production facilities. This ensures that the well is cleaned under conditions that exceed the normal operating parameters of the production facility.
