“My name is Marije and I started at Bakker Oilfield Supply in January 2020 as a receptionist, also performing financial tasks. Soon my role expanded and in 2021 I was asked to provide support to the IT department.

Since 2022, I have additionally been involved in payroll, which eventually led to my current position as IT & Payroll Officer.

My background is in the hospitality industry. After completing an MBO course in Facility Services and a chef training, I continued my studies at the University of Applied Sciences in International Hospitality Management.

In 2022, I completed the Practical Diploma in Payroll Administration to further deepen my knowledge in the field of payroll.

What makes my job so fascinating is the versatility of my tasks. From checking and processing hours for payroll, to managing systems and providing IT support. I usually start my day with a cup of tea and going through my mailbox, followed by making a to-do list for the rest of the day. During the day, I have regular meetings with my managers and colleagues about new developments and projects.
