Joel

Manager Projects & Engineering

“My name is Joel and I work as Manager of Projects & Engineering at Bakker Oilfield Supply. After studying Mechanical Engineering, I started here as a Well Service Engineer and have held various positions since then. Among other things, I focused on commercial activities with a focus on well testing and geothermal. Since July 2023, however, my focus has been more on the project and engineering side, and in my role as manager I am responsible for this department.

My position covers a wide range of tasks. I coordinate, monitor progress and manage the Projects & Engineering department, which consists of 7 colleagues. In addition, I have indirect responsibility for Field Operations. My work day usually starts around 7:30 am with going through incoming emails about possible new projects and engineering requests.

An important part of my role is to clearly define the scope of work and design projects, taking into account both internal and external customer requirements. I also ensure the preparation of a detailed project schedule and action plan. Regular meetings with my own team, as well as with Sales and QHSE, are essential for projects to run successfully.

What I love about working at BOS is the flexibility and the drive to innovate and grow. There is a lot of room to design and develop new equipment, allowing us to provide the best possible solutions for our customers.

In addition, the cooperation with colleagues is fantastic; we bring out the best in each other because of the short lines of communication within the company. If you put energy into something, you get plenty of support to actually make it happen.”
