Our history

Over the years, we have grown into a prominent player in the field of energy services. Our journey has been shaped by a commitment to reliability, safety, quality, sustainability, and flexibility. We look forward to continuing this progress alongside our valued partners and client.

1948
Our story starts in 1948. In that year, the first generation of Hinke Bakker, further referred to as “grandpa Bakker” begins buying up merchandise, including iron in Coevorden.
01
1950
The discovery of the oil fields in Schoonebeek led to the first cooperation with companies, working in the oil and gas industry. A near-collision with grandpa Bakker and his bike, with a car from one of the companies involved, led to a first contact with this industry. This eventually led to several collaborations that continue to this day.
02
1968
In 1968, two sons take over the company and continue under the name Gebr. Bakker. Grandpa Bakker remains closely involved with the organization until his 80th year.
03
1984
As the company is located among various oil and gas fields,there is an increasing demand from the market for additional services. For the first time, a non-family member is hired as a member of the board to help manage this expansion.
04
1987
Bakker Oilfield Supply is established as a new company. One of its pillars is renting out parts and materials for oil and gas extraction. As a result of these developments, the organization expands its activities and becomes increasingly oriented towards technical operations. The technical developments also lead to further differentiation in the activities carried out by the different companies.
05
1991
Bakker Oilfield Supply acquires P. Boer & Sons, a company that performs various assembly and disassembly work at locations. In addition to 10 employees, the following activities are added to the service package of Bakker Oilfield Supply:

- Rolling equipment to lift drilling rigs and move them to the next well location;
-Movable sound-absorbing walls;
-A wireline department.

In the same year, BOS Wireline Services is established. This department is later divested.
06
2013
Due to the rapid growth and expansion of products and services at Bakker Oilfield Supply, the location at Stephensonweg became too small. It was decided to build anew office with a workshop for Bakker Oilfield Supply at Hulteweg 10 in Coevorden. This will also be the headquarters of the Bakker Groep. In the summer of 2013, this move became a reality and was celebrated in a grand manner.
